My daughter needed a gift for her friend. I decided to go green in honor of her earth day birthday and dug through the recycle bin. I found cardboard and torn paper scraps, added some brown string from my bag of string bits and a few beads from a broken necklace... Voila! A tiny book necklace, perfect for jotting notes when out and about.

pretty in pink...
This vignette is inspired by my daughter, Erica;
a dancer and a true princess.
I gathered some of my favorite pink things for you. I love pale pink. It's a very calming color. When I re-do my art studio soon, it's going to be ivory and beige with touches of pale pink. I'm almost ready to start that project and I will have before and after pictures for you.

charming pink and blue illustrations, are
still blank.
favorite shabby pink table that I've had since I
was a little girl.

new camera fun...
Having fun today figuring out my new camera. My old one has been falling apart for a while. The on/off switch was half broken, making it difficult to turn on and off and the memory card slot was broken, so I could only take 15 pictures at a time. I finally broke down and bought a new one. I didn't think it would be that much different, but with these quick shots, I think I'm going to be very happy with the new one - a bit of my inspiration board, a light in my studio, a cute fish purse, banana truck on my counter (almost out of bananas), tea I had with my lunch. On the last shot you can see every scratch on my kitchen counter. Wow!

Mr. Snicklefritz
I thought you might enjoy Mr. Snicklefritz. He's a funky sock creature that I made a while back as a gift for a sick little boy. He wears sunglasses at night and his favorite food is liverwurst and onion sandwiches. It's been a busy week. We are in the thick of spring sports. Hours and hours and hours and hours, of practices, games, meets...in all kinds of weather extremes. What we do for our kids.

let's go fly a kite...
Flying a kite is fun, but as you can see it's a lot of work. Erica manned the large kite, a 45 foot dragon and Jake tried to get his tiny kite up. Liam took the easy route and did some fishing from the bank. As you can see, the water looks like chocolate milk today. We had a lot of rain on Thursday, which really stirs up the river and makes it look, well, yucky... The river also rose quite a bit as you can see in the last picture. The kids are waiting for Mark to help them across where the path is covered with water. But all in all, a fun, relaxing day.

piggly wiggly...
Piggly Wiggly, an experiment with papier mache from two summers ago. The kids are on spring break, so things are pretty crazy around here. They are all occupied for a few hours, so I slipped into my studio to work on some things and I thought I would say a quick "hello". So, "hello", hope your week is going well.
